RWW’s Paranoia-Rama takes a look at five of the week’s most absurd conspiracy theories from the Right.
It seems that immigration, gay rights and legal abortion are all about to destroy America, and there is nothing conservatives can do to stave off destruction until President Obama leaves office … unless, of course, Hillary Clinton gets elected, in which case we’re all doomed.
5) ‘The End Is Coming,’ Thanks Obama
While boasting about his ill-conceived boycott of pro-gay businesses, Franklin Graham announced that divine judgment against America “is coming soon.”
“The end is coming,” Graham said during an interview on Monday with the Family Research Council’s Craig James, alleging that Obama, and in particular his administration’s support for gay rights, is to blame: “I believe we are in the midnight hour as far as God’s clock is concerned or we may be in the last minutes, but of those last minutes it may be another hundred years, I don’t know, but when you see how quickly our country is deteriorating, how quickly the world is deteriorating morally, especially under this administration, we have seen that it has just taken a nosedive off of the moral diving board into the cesspool of humanity.”
Graham also went into detail about why he thinks LGBT Christians and the churches that accept them will “destroy our church in this country.”
4) Abortion Rights Behind California Drought
One California Republican assemblywoman has an idea of how to end California’s drought: ban abortion. Shannon Grove, who offered her drought solution during a speech at the California ProLife Legislative Banquet, pointed out that such a method has already worked in Texas!
“Texas was in a long period of drought until Governor Perry signed the fetal pain bill,” she said. “It rained that night. Now God has His hold on California.”
Grove had previously compared a bill regulating crisis pregnancy centers, organizations often used by anti-choice groups to peddle misinformation to women, to Nazi Germany forcing “people [to] wear Jewish stars.”
3) ‘Both ISIS And The Secular Left’ Are Persecuting Americans
Robert Jeffress, the Fox News contributor and prominent Southern Baptist pastor, told Bill O’Reilly this week that he has been busy screening Republican presidential candidates, although this cycle it doesn’t seem he will have a chance to criticize any candidates for their Mormon faith.
Jeffress said he recently met with six presidential candidates and asked them: “What are you going to do to protect the religious liberties of Americans that are under assault from ISIS, that you talk about all of the time, but also from the secular left. And I’m not going to vote for anybody who doesn’t have a clear plan to deal with both ISIS and the secular left.”
(Curiously enough, Jeffress also insisted that “nobody” on the Right is arguing that pastors will be forced to officiate the weddings of same-sex couples, which is patently false.)
On “Hannity,” Jeffress suggested that Christians in America are “absolutely” facing circumstances similar to those of Jews in Nazi Germany in the run-up to the Holocaust: “I want to remind people that, you know, the Nazis weren’t able to take the Jews to the crematoriums immediately. The German people wouldn’t have allowed for it. Instead, the Nazis had to change public opinion. They marginalized the Jewish people, disparaged them, and make them objects of contempt.”
2) Obama Is A ‘Wrecking Ball’
David Limbaugh is out with a warning in WorldNetDaily today about “existential threats to America,” which of course come from President Obama, whom he claims is “rapidly” bringing about “the demise of the nation.” Citing an ominous tweet from Matt Drudge, Limbaugh writes that that country “could be in dire trouble” and that he is “nervous” about what Obama has planned for his last years in office.
Limbaugh explains that Obama is seeking vengeance on America by “deliberately fanning the flames of division” because he’s “bitter about our founding and bitter about our current state,” adding, “There’s no satisfying a revenge appetite.”
“Obama’s ideas, policies and actions in office are often so outrageous that when you describe them or the threat they represent, people discount your comments as extreme on their face,” Limbaugh writes. “The trouble is it’s hard not to sound extreme when what he’s doing is extreme.”
However, “the wrecking ball that is Barack Obama and his army of enablers in his party and the media” may be nothing compared to Hillary Clinton, Limbaugh warns, predicting that the former secretary of state “will trample even more heavily on the Constitution” if elected president.
1) ‘Get Used To Your Little Girls Being Raped’
Ann Coulter has been promoting her book, “Adios America!,” with the finesse and sensitivity that she is known for, taking to “The Eric Metaxas Show” to warn that America “is going to be Uganda” as a result of the country’s immigration policies.
She predicted that immigrants are bringing sexual violence and eventually gender segregation to the U.S.: “Get used to having segregated buses and subways, as they have in India and Mexico, because of the way women are treated and sexually abused there; get used to your little girls being raped and being pregnant; get used to not being able to go to your national parks because they are being burnt down, pot farms are being grown there, pesticides dumped all over.”
Coulter offers a similar message in her book, claiming that “when it comes to multiculturalism, you can’t say, ‘We love the empanadas— but we don’t want forty-year-old men raping their nieces,’” since “gang rape, child rape, elder rape, and murder rape are highly correlated with specific ethnic groups— ethnic groups we are bringing to America by the busload.”
