Now That Midterms Are Over, Gateway Pundit (Again) Demands Trump Fire Jeff Sessions

Jim Hoft, leader of right-wing news blog The Gateway Pundit, penned a column today with a stiff demand: “Now that the midterm elections are over, President Trump must fire Jeff Sessions today and put Rod Rosenstein on house arrest.”

Earlier this year, Trump refused to answer whether he would fire Sessions after the midterm elections. The Gateway Pundit, being a blog that burns red-hot with ire for Sessions, having declared him a “traitor” for not jailing Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton or shielding Trump from the Russia investigation, interpreted Trump’s refusal to comment as a glimmer of hope that Sessions could be ousted. The blog has been banging the war drum against Sessions all year, declaring in February that getting rid of Sessions is a must if “this republic is to continue.”

Today, Hoft wrote:

There’s no evidence that he’s holding back and ready to surprise us all with some clandestine legal proceedings aimed at Obama, Clinton and the Deep State.  He’s not showing that he is a man of integrity – if he was he’d have stopped crooks Rosenstein and Mueller long ago.

Sessions has allowed this Deep State coup to go on for two years against an innocent President.

He has refused to prosecute the real lawbreakers in the Obama regime.

Now that the midterm elections are over, President Trump must fire Jeff Sessions today and put Rod Rosenstein on house arrest.

Last night, former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon provided Gateway Pundit with election night commentary. As The Daily Beast’s Will Sommer pointed out, Bannon was joined on a panel by two Pizzagate conspiracy theorists.
