Mike Huckabee recently chatted with a number of conservative activists, including slavery apologist and anti-gay extremist Douglas Wilson, in a Google hangout, where he addressed the deceptively edited videos targeting Planned Parenthood and discussed plan to outlaw abortion through executive fiat.
When Wilson proposed that Huckabee give David Daleiden, founder of the Center for Medical Progress, the group behind the sting videos, the Presidential Medal of Freedom, Huckabee called it “a great idea,” praising Daleiden as “a Wilberforce for our time,” a reference to British abolitionist William Wilberforce.
Beyond just “defunding one abortion organization,” Huckabee vowed to “be the president that would invoke the Fifth and 14th Amendments to declare that it is imperative that we afford unborn children their constitutional rights of the Fifth and 14th Amendment.” He said that this presidential declaration would bequeath personhood rights “at the moment of conception,” saying that he is tired of conservatives having to “play the defensive role for 42 years when all along we had the Fifth and 14th Amendments.”
