On Thursday’s edition of the “Savage Nation,” conservative talk show host Michael Savage blamed immigrant families for America’s financial burdens, saying that immigrant women “[knock] out babies like loaves of bread” in order to get more welfare benefits.
“It’s a much bigger picture here than you may have imagined,” he said. “It’s not the hard-working busboy or the gardener or the maid or the cook that we all see every day. It’s the silent millions sitting at home who do not work, they’re not the gardeners, they’re not the cooks, they’re not the maids. They’re sitting at home knocking out babies like loaves of bread, because each baby is a meal ticket.”
He accused undocumented workers of angling to take advantage of America’s social welfare programs.
“Who do you think is emigrating from these countries, the cream of the crop?” he asked listeners. “Well, no, some are just poor and they’re looking for a better life. And what better way to have a better life than welfare? They live better on welfare than they do in their own countries.”
After citing the much-disputed Heritage Foundation study on immigration, Savage said immigrants “come here because they know it is the land of plenty, the land of milk and honey, and they’re here to milk the milk and lick the honey. So the unilateral amnesty that Pelosi and Obama are trumpeting tonight will turn off the lights in the White House and grant us two years at least of darkness.”
