Conspiracy theorist radio host Michael Savage doesn’t like the fact that President Trump has appeared in recent months to sour on Fox News, which is cable news’ most popular network and what Savage describes as Trump’s “strongest supporter.”
Fox News and President Trump have worked symbiotically, often influencing one another. But on August 19, Trump reportedly told a press gaggle that “Fox is a lot different than it used to be,” for the worse. During an interview with Newsmax TV uploaded to YouTube this morning, Savage was asked what he thought of Trump’s recent feuding with Fox News.
“Even though he is correct and that Fox is hedging its bet for after the election because nobody really knows who might win, right, he’s wrong for attacking them. He needs every ally he can get, including Fox News, which has been his strongest supporter. What other network has supported him like this?” Savage said.
He continued, “Hannity practically carries his—I should say his water but I don’t think it’s water he carried. Hannity has been his spokesman for years. What is he doing by attacking the number one support structure he has?”
Savage said he was “pissed” that Trump hadn’t gone on his radio show “for a very, very long time,” claiming that his show was the difference between Trump winning and losing. While reminiscing, Savage showed Newsmax viewers a photo of himself with Trump that is included in his new book.
Earlier this year, Savage claimed that his radio show was influencing Trump’s decisions and that people in the White House listened to his program. Savage was a vocal supporter of Trump during the 2016 election, and last year Savage met with Trump and Vice President Mike Pence in the White House.
