Right-wing preacher Lance Wallnau appeared on Pat Robertson's "The 700 Club" last week to discuss his book, "God's Chaos Candidate: Donald J. Trump and the American Unraveling." While he was there, Wallnau spoke to employees of Robertson's Christian Broadcasting Network, where he declared that the release of the infamous "Access Hollywood" tape of Trump bragging about sexually assaulting women was part of God's plan to "humble" Trump in preparation for the presidency.
Wallnau said that his pro-Trump book had been released just days before the "Access Hollywood" story broke, which initially made him worry that "I am now going to look like a totally false prophet" for having backed someone like Trump.
But then, Wallnau said, he realized that the release of the tape was actually proof that God had a promotion in store for Trump and this incident was part of His plan to humble Trump in preparation for his new role.
"The only reason this could happen is because God allowed it because God is actually letting this man experience humbling because he really didn't have anything he could think of repenting before, but now he's got something," Wallnau said. "Why would God humble anyone? He would only humble them before they're about to get promoted. I said, 'I'm more convinced than ever that God has got His had on him even though, statistically, it's impossible. By the way, he'll know it was the hand of God that did it because there is no way he can get elected unless God does it.'"
