Conservative activist Jesse Lee Peterson is making the media rounds this week to blame Michael Brown and his parents for the Missouri teen’s shooting death at the hands of a police officer.
“I may be the only one in America who does not grieve for Michael Brown’s parents,” Peterson told Newsmax host Steve Malzberg yesterday. “The reality is Michael Brown is dead because of Michael Brown. It’s not officer Darrell Wilson’s fault.”
Peterson went on to blame Brown’s parents, who he said should be “shunned” because they “failed to raise a decent citizen”:
“Also, his parents are hypocrites because, first of all, they didn’t raise Michael Brown in the right way. They failed him. They failed to raise a decent citizen. And so they’re partly responsible for the death of Michael Brown as well. And I have to tell you, the way the president, the attorney general, and these so-called civil rights leaders are carrying on is shameful. Michael Brown’s parents should be shunned, they should be made to feel embarrassed for the way that they raised, that they raised their son.”
Peterson made similar comments in a Fox News interview yesterday, telling Neil Cavuto that “Michael Brown is dead because he had failing parents who decided they were not going to raise him in the right way”:
In a WorldNetDaily column earlier this week, Peterson added that he thinks African American leaders who are upset about Brown’s death are also “products of bad parenting”:
With these kinds of parents as role models, Michael Brown didn’t have a chance. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, and bad parents raise rotten children.
Michael Brown is dead because of Michael Brown and because his parents failed him.
Look at the so-called “leaders” who are blaming the cops and “racism” for Brown’s death. Most of them are products of bad parenting:
· Barack Obama continues to draw moral equivalency between police and rioters. His dad was a raging alcoholic who neglected him. His mother was a radical who pushed young Obama on bad role models who shaped his anti-American and racist worldview.
· Jesse Jackson was born out of wedlock, and his biological father did not raise him.
· Al Sharpton’s father left his wife to have a relationship with Sharpton’s half-sister. Sharpton grew up without his father.
The very people that are making excuses for bad parenting and bad behavior didn’t have good parents themselves.
