The response from the Religious Right to President Obama's recent speech on the Middle East has ranged from allegations that he is anti-Semitic and encouraging ethnic cleansing to fears that he is cursing America and dividing the nation.
But Cindy Jacobs sees an upside - namely that God is using this as an opportunity to "shake up Israel" so they will turn toward Jesus:
We are sorry to be so slow in responding to the shocking comments that President Obama made concerning Israel last month. We were traveling out of the country during the time of the President's statement on returning the borders of Israel back to its 1967 borders.
As you know, we as a prayer network stand with Israel and believe strongly that a dividing of the land of Israel and Jerusalem in particular will cause our own to be divided in some way.
As I prayed about the current situation in the Middle East I feel that God is going to use this pressure to shake Israel up and cause them to seek His face. I saw many young Messianic believers boldly proclaiming the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ without fear of repercussions. It is time for many Jewish people to turn to the Lord.
