On yesterday's radio program, Glenn Beck interviewed Shane Osborn and Ben Sasse, both of whom are running for the Senate in Nebraska. The interview with Osborn was rather awkward from the get-go as Freedomworks, which has deep ties to Beck and his network, had initially endorsed him only to rescind its endorsement and support Sasse instead after Beck heaped praise upon him.
Near the end of the conversation, Osborn mentioned that he would be holding a town hall later that night with Grover Norquist, apparently unaware that Beck absolutely loathes Norquist. The revelation did not go unnoticed by Beck, who returned from a commercial break following the interview to question Osborn's judgment for associating with someone like Norquist.
"Grover Norquist is truly one of the most dangerous men supposedly on our side," Beck said. "He, I believe, is the George Soros shadowy figure who is not who you think he is."
When co-host Pat Gray tried to play devil's advocate and defend Osborn by saying maybe he only knew about Norquist's anti-tax efforts and not all of the other "dangerous" stuff Norquist is supposedly doing, Beck wasn't swayed.
"You're a senator," Beck said of Osborn. "It's your job to learn about these things, if that's your job. If you're going to be a senator, you had better learn about who the people are you're standing next to! It's your responsibility:"
We would like to point out that Glenn Beck regularly welcomes various congressional candidates onto his radio program, as well as several sitting members of Congress, including Ted Cruz and Rand Paul.
So allow us to, for once, agree with Beck and say to all of those candidates who are eagerly lining up to stand next to him: "You had better learn about who the people are you're standing next to! It's your responsibility."
