On his television program last night, Glenn Beck announced that he and Religious Right pseudo-historian David Barton are moving forward with their plans to create a museum that can be used as a "starting point" to create "a love affair with America."
"We want you to be able to love America, not hate America," Barton told viewers, which is why he and Beck plan on personally leading training sessions once the museum is operational. The museum will be "the first stop if you want to learn about America," Beck said, with the expectation that attendees will then go on and do their own research and "prove it right."
Barton and Beck said that they want to train college students to challenge the history taught by their professors, knowing that those professors "who are honest" and "love the truth" will be willing to be corrected.
"We are also getting serious and we decided today to start to engage some planners, designers, architects," Beck said, "to be able to figure out what's the best way we can store, share and teach the real love for America."
