Gary Bauer’s speech to the Values Voter Summit today was a parade of anti-Muslim rhetoric — fitting for a conference on protecting “religious liberty”— that led up to him accusing President Obama of being “more interested in defending the reputation of Islam than he [is] in saving the lives of Christians.”
“Obama and his allies do everything they can to rip out of our society all the vestiges that made this Judeo-Christian civilization” which “liberal elites can’t stand,” he declared.
If the next Republican presidential nominee has “a heart and a brain,” Bauer said, he would tell Obama that pushing back against anti-Muslim attacks is not “in his job description.”
