Last week, Rodney Howard-Browne, a right-wing pastor and radical conspiracy theorist who laid hands on and prayed over President Trump in the Oval Office last year, released a "documentary" ostensibly about the need for a Christian awakening in America that was essentially an extended infomercial for his River Church in Tampa Bay, Florida.
In between segments promoting his church, Howard-Browne sought to terrify viewers with nightmarish scenarios about what will happen to this nation if the people do not turn back to God.
"If we have don't have a great awakening, people are going to have a rude awakening," he said, warning that this nation is on the verge of total economic collapse and/or at great risk of an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) attack that will destroy the nation's electronic infrastructure and wipe out half the population.
"I've been inside the Congress, I've spoken to high-level congresspeople on the Finance Committee and they confirm what I am saying, so I'm not making this up," Howard-Brown insisted.
That warning was followed by an equally dire message from evangelist Jonathan Shuttlesworth, who went on to expose what he said is Satan's efforts to destroy the institution of the family.
"The Bible says that when a culture starts to decline, there's an obsession with sexual perversion," Shuttlesworth said. "And then it says they forever invent new ways of sinning, which with the transgender issue that is going on, that's what you see. It's like there will never be a stop where the devil thinks it's too wicked, you'll just keep seeing new ways to destroy a culture. So Satan knows that if he can jerk with the structure of the family and the father and mother and children and can mess that up, you can take a whole nation out. So that's why there is such a focus on messing the home up."
Later in the program, after Howard-Browne asserted that "Al Qadea was funded and set up right out of America [and] so was ISIS" because "the banking cartels only make money when people are at war," he asserted that every American needs to own a gun and "learn how to shoot a gnat off a camel's behind" in order to protect themselves from a tyrannical government.
"Somebody said, 'Well, God will protect us,'" Howard-Browne said. "Yes. We have angels and Smith & Wesson."
