Dave Daubenmire Accuses Religious Right Leaders Of Engaging In 'Idolatry And Hero-Worship' Of President Trump

Religious Right activist "Coach" Dave Daubenmire is not impressed by the reception that President Trump hosted for several dozen conservative Christian leaders at the White House earlier this week, nor is he much of a fan of those leaders who attended and fawned over the president, accusing them of engaging in idolatry.

On his "Pass The Salt Live" webcast this morning, Daubenmire played a video that right-wing pastor Jim Garlow filmed from the reception showing Trump mingling with the crowd of "influential religious leaders," as Daubenmire mockingly referred to them.

"You just watch this and ask yourself, is this idolatry and hero-worship or not," Daubenmire said as he showed Garlow's video. "It's like wining and dining a woman. Giddy. 'Oh, we got to do this and we got two hours with him!' Have they spent two hours with the King of King and the Lord of Lords? Have they? Do they worship the ground that the King of Kings and the Lord of Lord walks on as they do the El Presidente?"

"Trump ain't God, Trump can't make America great again and the guys in the room taking all those selfies, they're the ones who got us in this mess," Daubenmire declared before he began fuming over the fact that prosperity gospel preacher Paula White played a prominent role in yesterday’s Rose Garden signing ceremony for the so-called “religious liberty” executive order.

"Paula White! Are you kidding me?" he said. "I'm not trying to be critical, but Paula White's on her third marriage ... When Trump signed that order in the garden, you know who was right behind him? Paula White."

"Women aren't supposed to be in authority over men," Daubenmire said. "I'm just saying what the Bible says. So there we are in America, Donald Trump giving authority back to the church—like he can do that, right?—and who do we see in the background, strategically placed behind him? Kewpie doll Paula White, applauding."
