Michael Snyder, a doomsday prepper and blogger who is running for Congress in Idaho, bills himself as “the most pro-Trump candidate in America,” but this week he’s sounding an alarm about the possibility that President Trump’s recent announcement on Jerusalem could encourage a peace deal between Israel and the Palestinians.
As we reported recently, many Religious Right leaders who pushed Trump to move the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem are opposed to any land-for-peace deal. U.S. allies and Christian leaders in Jerusalem are among those who fear Trump’s move will hinder the potential for a peace deal, but that’s just fine with Religious Right leaders who believe God opposes any move by Israel to return land to the Palestinians.
Snyder worries that Trump’s move may actually be “accelerating” a potential peace deal. In a Monday blog post that was re-published by the far-right Sons of Liberty, Snyder criticized the outlines of a deal that The New York Times reported earlier this month is being promoted by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman. The Times article said the plan “would be more tilted toward the Israelis than any ever embraced by the American government, one that presumably no Palestinian leader could ever accept.”
But even that kind of deal, said Snyder, would be a “huge mistake” because “the land of Israel” must never “be divided under any circumstances.” He pledged that as a member of Congress he would “never” support a two-state solution:
In the Scriptures, we are told that one of the things that God will judge the nations for in the last days is the dividing of the land of Israel. It is His land, and He has given that land to all of the tribes of Israel as an inheritance.
So let us pray that this current “peace plan” will fall apart, because any plan that would divide the land of Israel is a really, really bad idea.
Back in January, Snyder said that Trump could begin to “reverse the curse” that America is under because of President Barack Obama’s “betrayal” of Israel. Moving the embassy was among Snyder’s suggestions; he also urged Trump to say the U.S. “will never recognize a Palestinian state.”
Snyder is a regular guest on Alex Jones’ InfoWars broadcast, where he has pushed conspiracy theories about the mass shooting in Las Vegas. Snyder wants to flood Congress with “InfoWars candidates” such as himself.
