Virginia Delegate Bob Marshall, a conservative culture warrior, has attracted the attention and money of anti-LGBTQ groups in his fight for reelection against Danica Roem, a former reporter who is a transgender woman.
So it was only fitting that Marshall took time on Election Day today to call into Bryan Fischer’s nationally broadcast American Family Radio program, where Fischer praised him for “standing in the way” of progressives’ “deviant agenda” to have transgender people run for public office.
Calling supporters of trans rights the “equivalent of flat earthers,” Fischer told Marshall that “they’re looking at this as the thin edge of the wedge to start pushing transgenders into public office, and right now you’re the one standing in the way of their deviant agenda.”
“I’m asking your listeners to pray the prayer that King David did when his son Absalom was in rebellion,” Marshall said. “He prayed that his counselor would not give solid advice. We need to, one, proceed first with prayer, then thought, then action. You can’t be a sideline Christian and think you’re going to keep your rights in a society that’s becoming ever more secular every day.”
Fischer then led his audience in prayer that God “would bring confusion into the camp of those who oppose the truth that Delegate Marshall is seeking to promote and to defend.”
