Breitbart London editor Raheem Kassam accused celebrities who advocated for gun control following the Las Vegas shooting earlier this month of participating in a media narrative aimed at preventing victims of sexual abuse from defending themselves.

Kassam was speaking with Breitbart editor-at-large John Nolte this morning about the ever-growing number of reports detailing sexual abuse scandals in Hollywood when the conversation veered into criticism of a video that features prominent entertainment industry icons speaking out against the National Rifle Association (NRA). Kassam chided those who appeared in the video and accused them of using the Las Vegas shooting as “jumping off point” for anti-gun talking points aimed at disarming Americans, including female victims of sexual abuse.

“No extra gun control measures would have necessarily stopped this attack,” Kassam said. “For all we know the attacker complied with all levels of gun controls, background checks, so on and so forth.”

Kassam continued, “I just can’t believe it. Against a backdrop of truly deeply disturbing sexual aggression—harassment is a mild way of putting it, this is sexual aggression aimed at often very vulnerable young women, people who would have been referred to as ‘girls’ just a couple of years before the stuff had happened to them. Disarm them, right? This is the narrative these guys are pushing right now.”
