For the last several days, Glenn Beck has been hyping the fear that terrorists may have captured nearly a dozen commercial airplanes in Libya, which they intend to crash into oil fields in Saudi Arabia in order to take down America.
On his radio show yesterday, he raised the threat once again, warning that if this happens "it is lights out for the Western way of life." Beck went on to caution that while he is not predicting that this is going to happen, he does have a track record of having been right about everything he's warned about for the last decade (or so he likes to pretend).
"I'm just telling you," he said, "that all of the things that we have spoken about on this program for the last ten years ... everything we've spoken about, they're all now poised to happen."
Beck then went on to toss out a variety of other dire scenarios about economic and social collapse and global war in order to warn that a wholesale meltdown is all but inevitable because nobody would listen to him.
"I can just tell you that all of the things that I told America: you should prepare, we should act now, we should pay attention, we have to stop this, we have to change the course, we have to do it right now, there will come a time when all options in front of us are bad options," Beck said. "We're here. We're here right now"
