It didn’t take long for the anti-gay Right to respond in shock to college football player Michael Sam kissing his boyfriend after receiving a call notifying him that he was being drafted by the St. Louis Rams.
Before Sam was even drafted, lobbyist David Burkman announced that he and a “coalition of Evangelical Christian leaders from across the nation” would organize a “relentless” boycott of whichever NFL team drafted the openly gay defensive end.
When Sam was shown receiving the good news, a mortified Peter LaBarbera of Americans For Truth About Homosexuality tweeted about the player’s “perversion.”
American Family Association spokesman Bryan Fischer tweeted that people who truly love Sam “would urge him toward therapy,” and in his column today encouraged the NFL to meet “privately with Michael Sam to urge him in the strongest possible terms to pursue reparative therapy in the hopes of saving his life.”
“[T]he only people who truly care for Mr. Sam are those who love him enough to tell him the truth about the health risks of homosexual behavior,” he added.
The editor-in-chief of Herman Cain’s website, Best of Cain, was also upset about the “cringe-inducing” “public homosexual displays of affection.” Dan Calabrese wrote that “the natural inclination of the human being to look at two men kissing and say, ‘Ewwww!’” actually “comes from God,” and acceptance of gay people amounts to “rebellion against God.”
Cue the media, which couldn't tell us enough how wonderful it was that the openly homosexual Sam - upon hearing the news he was drafted - laid a smooch on his boyfriend on live TV. Look, everyone! See two men kissing each other! How wonderful!
And it was only a matter of time until someone who thought it was actually kind of cringe-inducing said so publicly, and that someone turned out to be Miami Dolphins safety Don Jones. He tweeted the following succinct commentary: "omg . . . horrible"
Please note: That is not allowed.
The rules are simple. People who wish to engage in PHDA (public homosexual displays of affection) will do so as openly as they like. The media will show these PHDAs to us repeatedly and at every opportunity. You are to watch. You have a choice between expressing your glee or saying nothing. However, if you are asked what you think, you must say it is wonderful. This is mandatory.

What the culture is trying to do to Don Jones - now with the full buy-in of the NFL - is to force a reprogramming of people's natural reaction to things. It insists on showing us pictures of two men kissing, and when we don't react to that positively, saying to us: You ignoramuses! You don't mind when NFL draftees kiss their girlfriends! This is no different!
…
And because this comes from God, so too does the natural inclination of the human being to look at two men kissing and say, "Ewwww!" Many people don't want to see it. That's why we chose not to show the kiss in the photo above. I can't rail against the media for shoving that image in our faces and then shove it in your face.
The culture that is in fullscale rebellion against God attacks this natural inclination, but it is still there. I don't think it was particularly wise for Don Jones to tweet what he did, but why do the gay-is-wonderful people have the right to put any image and any message they want in front of us, while no one has the right to give their honest reaction to it?
What the Dolphins did to Don Jones is the latest triumph of fascism. It is the controlling of people's thoughts and their expressions thereof. It matters not at all that the government is not the official perpetrator of this control. The source is a political movement, and it happens to be the very political movement that supports the people in power in this country at the moment.
But more to the point, the culture is demanding that people reject the Word of God on the matter of homosexuality, or pay the price.
4 WINDS Christian Athletics denounced the NFL for “caving into the homosexual agenda”:
The floodgates of immorality have increased dramatically in sports. An NFL team has drafted an open homosexual player, the USA Olympic Committee is promoting homosexuality, and Nike is funding a gay marriage political action committee (PAC) in Oregon.
The St. Louis Rams selected Michael Sam in the seventh round of the NFL draft. After being selected, Sam kissed his gay lover on ESPN in celebration.

"There has always been sinners in sports as sports is a reflection of society. However, the floodgates of immorality have dramatically increased over the last few years," says 4 WINDS President Steve McConkey. "Sports people throughout the world are caving into the homosexual agenda."
Judson Phillips of Tea Party Nation also defended those who “were grossed out by the spectacle of two men kissing on TV,” arguing that the NFL should lose its tax-exempt status if it continues to “push an agenda.”
He was drafted and in what was very clearly a scripted movement for television, he kissed another man.
The reaction was quick.
Many Americans were grossed out by the spectacle of two men kissing on TV. Many were appalled by what was obviously a staged event to push an agenda.

Over the last few years, the NFL has become much more of an arm of the political left. From the Baltimore Ravens pitching Obamacare to the NFL’s implied threats to move the Super Bowl from Arizona if Governor Jan Brewer did not veto Arizona’s Religious Freedom Restoration Act, the NFL is acting like an arm of Organizing for Obama.
Perhaps it is time for real Americans to say enough. If the NFL wants to be political, then it can be. We don’t have to watch the NFL and we should ask our Senators and Congressmen why the NFL remains a tax-exempt organization?
