Anti-abortion groups have been pushing hard for the confirmation of Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions to be attorney general, in part because they hope that he will use the Justice Department to pursue charges against Planned Parenthood for the phony “baby body parts” scandal.
Concerned Women for America’s Penny Nance said last week that she was hopeful Sessions would go after the “nefarious” women’s health group. Marilyn Musgrave, vice president of the Susan B. Anthony List, expressed a similar sentiment in an

“Under President Obama, the most pro-abortion president we’ve ever had, the Justice Department has turned a blind eye to all of these allegations,” she said. “A Jeff Sessions-directed Justice Department will go after Planned Parenthood and we will see Planned Parenthood held accountable, and we look forward to that day."

In a separate interview for the EWTN segment, the Judicial Crisis Network’s Carrie Severino said that Sessions would look at the Planned Parenthood allegations “fairly,” unlike “Obama’s Justice Department, which would dismiss that out of hand because they’re such big donors to them.”
