Virginia Republican candidate for governor Glenn Youngkin appeared at the Family Research Council’s “Pray Vote Stand” conference last Friday, joining speakers who denounced LGBTQ people as satanic and promoted Christian nationalism.

Glenn Youngkin, the Republican candidate for governor of Virginia, spoke at a gala Saturday held by the virulently anti-LGBTQ, anti-choice Family Foundation, Blue Virginia first reported.

Virginia is home to religious-right figures like televangelist Pat Roberson and his Christian Broadcasting Network, Jerry Falwell Jr. and his Liberty University, pundit and failed political candidate E.W. Jackson, and the National Rifle Association.

Last weekend’s Values Voter Summit, the annual political gathering sponsored by the intensely anti-LGBTQ Family Research Council, featured a breakout session on “transgender ideology in public schools.” One panelist encouraged a “divide and conquer” strategy to defeat “totalitarian” school policies
