Over the weekend, George Soros was among a group of individuals to whom President Joe Biden awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Bestowing this honor upon Soros did not sit well with Republicans and far-right activists, who have long leveled baseless and antisemitic attacks against the progressive philanthropist.
On Sunday, far-right pastor and self-proclaimed "prophet" Kent Christmas used his sermon to declare that God will soon kill President Biden for this decision.
"This is what I believe the Lord is saying," Christmas preached. "There is a natural death that's getting ready to hit wicked people in this nation. And God said, 'I'm getting ready to remove,' and God help the man who gave a Presidential Medal of Freedom honor to George Soros."
"I have to defend God's people today," Christmas declared. "Hallelujah."
"I'm telling you by the spirit of the Lord, I hear God saying, 'They have thrown down the gauntlet,'" Christmas continued. "And God said, 'I have picked it up.' ... And the Lord said, 'I'm going to begin to remove those, Hallelujah, who have sold their souls out to the enemy.' And God said, 'You're going to begin to see wicked men begin to pass from the Earth because I am doing something in the new day by the spirit of the Lord to bring freedom unto the House of God.'"
Late last year, a group of "sixty seasoned prophets" known as the Apostolic Council of Prophetic Elders took the unprecedented step of publicly condemning a fellow prophet for issuing prophecies critical of Donald Trump, claiming that such prophecies were dangerous because they might inspire someone to "fulfill [their] violent rhetoric."
We cannot help but notice that the APCE has remained silent about Christmas, even though he has been issuing these sorts of violent prophecies for years now.
