Oklahoma pastor Jackson Lahmeyer was among the group of religious-right MAGA activists who were invited to attend an Easter dinner at the White House with President Donald Trump last week, where Lahmeyer reportedly had the "time of [his] life."
Lahmeyer, a Christian nationalist MAGA pastor and conspiracy theorist who launched a futile campaign for the U.S. Senate in 2022, appeared on X America News Tuesday night to gush about his experience at the White House. During the interview, Lahmeyer declared that Americans are rejoicing because "righteous" leaders are now in charge, especially after the previous four years under the presidency of Joe Biden, whom Lahmeyer claimed was a "wicked ruler" and "an instrument of God's judgment upon our nation."
"The Bible says that whenever the wicked rule, the people groan," Lahmeyer said. "And so for four years, Americans were just groaning. Right? Just groaning. But the Bible also says when the righteous rule, the people rejoice and we're entering into what you've heard said over and over and over again, a golden age."
"We're entering into a season that it seems as if Americans are going to experience tremendous prosperity, tremendous peace, tremendous victories," he continued. "Leadership matters. It really, really matters. And John Calvin once said that when God wants to judge a nation, he'll give them a wicked ruler. And I believe that Joe Biden was an instrument of God's judgment upon our nation, and it woke so many people up to the reality that our country is in trouble and we have made a massive turn around."
