Hank Kunneman Is Still Trying To Defend His False Prophecies

Early in 2020, MAGA pastor and self-proclaimed "prophet" Hank Kunneman boldly declared that not only would Donald Trump be reelected as president, but that Mike Pence, then serving as Trump's vice president, would be elected president himself in 2024.

"God had a plan and an agenda to rescue a nation," he added. "And when his foot came down in that vision, he said these words, he said, 'Who is on the Lord's side?' ... So this is very important in this time that we side with God and we side with what he is doing."

Kunneman then related yet another vision in which he claimed that God showed him the words "payback" and "recompense," with an emphasis on the last syllable as "Pence."

"Why do you think God allowed a man to be raised up with the name Trump?" Kunneman asked. "The Lord said, 'I'm standing in the midst of the man and my spirit is attached to him and I'm putting Trump and I'm calling it tr-i-umph, with I'm standing in the middle.' Why do you think there's the word 'Pence'? Because there is something of God's plan if we pray and cooperate with God prophetically."

That obviously did not happen, but Kunneman has spent the last several years petulantly refusing to apologize(link is external) or even admit(link is external) that(link is external) Joe Biden was president(link is external), instead promising that God would reward(link is external) those who stood with(link is external) him while attacking(link is external) those who dared to criticize him and his false prophecies.

With Trump now back in the White House with a new vice president, Kunneman is still attempting to defend his prophetic bona fides, declaring during a recent sermon(link is external) that his prophecy about Pence was accurate but that Pence "disqualified himself" by refusing to help Trump stay in office after he lost the 2020 election.

"Pence, I believe God spoke prophetically about him," Kunneman declared. "I think God had a plan for Pence, but he disqualified himself. Just like his name, Pence—P-E-N—he signed something with his pen and it sealed his fate forever. Yes, politicians can, and the prophecies regarding them, can change. It did with Saul. He sought the Witch of Endor(link is external) and God said, 'I rejected your Kingdom. You're not getting another term.'"

"It can happen, so don't attack the prophets," Kunneman warned.
