The “FlashPoint” program on Kenneth Copeland’s Victory Channel has provided a platform for pro-Trump propaganda and prophecies over the past four years, so it was no surprise that Thursday night’s program was devoted to celebrating Donald Trump’s popular vote and Electoral College victory as an act of God that will lead to the “transformation” of America in line with dominionists’ biblical worldview.
Trump’s victory is “the beginning of the next phase of the culture war you and I are in,” host Gene Bailey told viewers. “The next chapter of America starts now.”
Among the items on the to-do list that Bailey said viewers now have an “urgent mandate” to implement were to “stop the attack on Christians in America” and “become a pro-life nation, period” along with MAGA campaign staples like building a border wall, “draining the swamp,” and attacking transgender people.
Bailey was joined by New Apostolic Reformation leaders Che Ahn and Dutch Sheets, “prophet” Hank Kunneman, activist Mark Meckler, and speaker and movie producer Kylie Jean Tannehill.
NAR promotes Seven Mountains Dominionism, a political ideology that asserts that every sphere of influence in society must come under the control of the kind of Christians who share the theology of “dominion.” Before the election, FlashPoint sent supporters a fridge magnet containing the notorious “Watchman Decree” that includes the declaration, “We take back and permanently control position of influence and leadership in each of the seven mountains.”
On Thursday’s show, Ahn celebrated Trump’s victory with a reference to a NAR teaching that spiritual revival will lead to the transformation of whole nations. Ahn said that “revival begins with the church, but reformation is with government, media, education, the various institutions of our society, and I feel that we need to press towards a full reformation that we will see transformation of America that will lead to the transformation of nations.” He called the election results a manifestation of God’s “supernatural power to change a nation.”
Panelists urged people not to stop fighting now that Trump has won. “We’re just getting started,” Ahn and Sheets declared. “It’s time for the kings to go out to battle,” said Kunneman.
