On today's episode of his "WallBuilders Live" radio program, Christian nationalist pseudo-historian David Barton praised Donald Trump's pledge to "move parts of the sprawling federal bureaucracy to new locations outside the Washington Swamp."
Barton said that there were multiple benefits to potentially moving Congress and other parts of the federal government out of Washington D.C. First, it would make it very hard to staff the government with liberals and secondly, it would free them from demonic control.
"Can you imagine how different Congress would be, the Capitol would be, if we were to suddenly say on Friday night, 'Hey, we're all going to meet together in Fargo, N.D., as the US capital come Monday morning'?" Barton said. "You leave all those outside regulators, you leave all the the lobbyists, you leave it all behind and you get with people who actually know what's happening in the real world and they're not entrenched in this bureaucracy."
"Take the FBI and move it to Beaver, O.K.," he continued. "Now, I don't know that there's a liberal in Beaver, O.K., anywhere, so who are you going to hire to run your staff? It's not gonna be the swamp people."
"You start moving to towns like that, you're gonna break up that swamp really quick," Barton asserted. "It's just going to be such a healthier place to get outside that one entrenched [area]. And just speaking spiritually too, we know from Ephesians 8 and even in the Book of Daniel, we see that there's principalities and powers and rulers of darkness and heavenly places and there's got to be the biggest ever demons over Washington, D.C., because there's so much power there and it's all centralized. Just breaking that up is going to break the spiritual warfare up as well. No question in my mind."
This is not the first time that Barton has claimed that demonic powers control the seat of government.
