Earlier this year, far-right conspiracy theorist and self-proclaimed "alpha toxic male" Clay Clark announced that he was working to place a "prophet" in Donald Trump's cabinet if the former president returns to the White House. Clark is positioned to potentially do this because he has forged close ties to Trump's son, Eric, through the "ReAwaken America" tour Clark had been parading around the nation for the last several years.
Launched in 2021 as a "Reopen America" event in Oklahoma that was designed to protest restrictions put in place during the COVID-19 pandemic, the event was such a success that Clark quickly rechristened it "ReAwaken America" and launched a nationwide tour, holding similar events all over the country.
Convinced that a vague 2013 prophecy from the late “prophet” Kim Clement about “a man by the name of Mr. Clark and … another man by the name of Donald” was a prophecy about himself and Donald Trump, Clark's events quickly became a nonstop cavalcade of outlandish conspiracy theories and explicitly violent rhetoric mixed with aggressive Christian nationalism.
Eventually, members of the Trump family began to participate, leading Clark to form a particularly close friendship with Eric and Lara Trump, whom he credited with "legitimizing what we are doing in the minds of many people." In 2023, Clark bragged that through his tour, he had managed to establish direct connections to the Trump family and campaign, and was working to ensure that Trump would be “surrounded by both prophets and pastors” in his run for president.
During a recent appearance on a program hosted by unhinged conspiracy theorist Pete Santilli, who has openly encouraged violence against his perceived political opponents on multiple occasions, Clark revealed that he has been tasked by Eric Trump with organizing an "11th Hour Faith Leaders Meeting" between far-right Christian nationalist activists and the former president in North Carolina later this month.
"I was both honored and tasked by Dr. [Ben] Carson and Eric Trump to organize an '11th Hour Faith Leaders' meeting, and that is an event that's for pastors only," Clark said. "I just believe that God has tasked us all right now, everybody watching this, to do what we can to save our nation. And so I'm honored to do this faith leader event, and I'll be spending next Thursday with Eric Trump here in Tulsa, Oklahoma, plotting out the details of this event."
Perhaps most alarmingly, Clark also said that he has "been asked by certain people if I'd be willing to help in the White House" if Trump is reelected.
The name of Clark's event is telling, as "The 11th Hour" is the name of weekly livestream broadcast produced by self-proclaimed "prophet" Robin Bullock, a far-right conspiracy theorist who has developed close ties with Trump confidante Roger Stone and has urged Trump to surround himself with prophets rather than political advisers.
When Clark and Eric Trump appeared on the "Elijah Streams" program Tuesday morning, Clark announced, unsurprisingly, the Bullock will be among the faith leaders in attendance at this gathering.
