WASHINGTON, D.C.— On this 47th anniversary of the Supreme Court ruling in Roe v. Wade, PFAW Executive Vice President for Policy and Program Marge Baker released the following statement:

"As we mark the anniversary of the Roe decision this year, we are acutely aware that the rights recognized in Roe are at greater risk than at any time since that landmark 1973 ruling. The Trump administration's efforts to push the courts, including the Supreme Court, to the far right, have emboldened those hostile to reproductive freedom across our country. The two Trump justices on the Supreme Court could well cast votes that result in the Court's sharply curtailing that freedom in just a few months. This reminds us how critical the courts are in protecting our rights, and how important it is to remember this when we cast votes for the president and senators in November. We don't vote for federal judges. But we do vote for those who nominate and confirm them, and that makes all the difference when it comes to upholding our rights and freedoms."
