WASHINGTON, D.C. – Following the party-line vote in the Senate Judiciary Committee to advance Kash Patel’s nomination for FBI Director to the full Senate, People For the American Way President Svante Myrick issued the following statement:
“We owe a debt of gratitude to committee Democrats, who told the truth about his record, including all the evidence that he lied to the committee. Now, it’s up to the full Senate. All it takes is four Republican senators willing to say yes to their constituents’ safety and no to Donald Trump’s obsession with revenge.”
“Senate Republicans put all Americans at risk with this vote. It’s hard to imagine a nominee less qualified to be FBI Director than Kash Patel. His harshest critics are the Republicans who worked with him during the first Trump administration.
