In an interview with Jan Markell on “Understanding the Times” this weekend, anti-Muslim activist Brigitte Gabriel claimed that President Obama won’t say “anything bad about Islam” because “the most beautiful childhood memories he has” are of growing up in Indonesia and “praying just like Osama bin Laden prayed.”
After Markell played a clip from Gabriel’s recent interview with Alan Colmes, the two agreed that liberals are “deluded” about Islam. Gabriel included in that assessment the president, whom she falsely claimed changed his name as an adult (he simply dropped a childhood nickname), attended a religious “madrassa” in Indonesia (he actually attended a progressive public school for under a year and studied for four years at a Roman Catholic school), and grew up “reciting the Shahada, the praying just like Osama bin Laden prayed.”
“So this is why President Obama cannot bring himself to calling radical Islam, or anything bad about Islam, because in his mind there couldn’t be anything bad about Islam, it’s the most beautiful childhood memories he has,” she said.
What the delusional left is not taking into the equation [is] that Barack Hussein Obama, who actually changed his name to a Muslim name when he got older because he idealized his heritage and his father, and remember, he actually went to Islamic schools as a child, he went to a madrassa.
So part of his homework was reciting the Shahada, the praying just like Osama bin Laden prayed. This is exactly why President Obama said that the sweetest sounds to his ear is the sound of the muezzin, the Islamic mullah, saying that prayers from the minaret. So you cannot take that out of him. People always idealize their childhood, they always look back fondly of certain memories, especially if they were happy memories of their childhood. So this is why President Obama cannot bring himself to calling radical Islam, or anything bad about Islam, because in his mind there couldn’t be anything bad about Islam, it’s the most beautiful childhood memories he has.
