With the Trump administration back and preparing to nominate new judges, we’re once again turning our attention to Trump-appointed judges and the decisions they make. To keep everyone updated on  Trump judge decisions, we’ve re-launched ConfirmedFears.org(link is external), a site that collects cases heard by Trump judges and explains their significance. It is similar to the work we did concerning Trump judges during his first term. Here are the features that make this site so useful and the reasons we need to remain aware of the dangers Trump judges pose to us all.

Site features

The site offers users the chance to see cases decided by individual Trump judges or in which Trump judges dissented from the majority. Most cases are presented in detail with a wealth of information to help users understand the sides and the ramifications. The data also include:

Judge(s) in the case

Trump judges frequently make decisions that have dangerous ramifications, so it’s important to know their names and remember them should future cases arise or should they be considered for another court position. Confirmedfears.org(link is external) shows you the judges involved in each case and provides additional information about the judges so you can stay informed and keep up with the people making decisions that affect millions of Americans. And, if you already know the name of a judge you’re interested in learning about, you can search by judge to find other cases in which they’ve ruled, as well as what will be the impact of those cases.

Where the case is located

From the Supreme Court on down, case location information is vital to understanding who will be most affected by each decision. That’s why we give clear information about the circuit in which each case is located, or if cases come from the Supreme Court, and who is included in the decision. This way users can jump to their own circuit and see what decisions will impact their area.

Issues relevant to the case

We know not everyone has the time or emotional availability these days to read through every case, that’s why we break down the cases and allow users to search by issue area. Maybe you’re interested only in  cases that address voting rights, racial justice, or healthcare. You can search by issue to find cases relevant to the topic you choose and read up on the latest happenings around that issue.

When the case was decided

We also provide information on when each case was decided. This is important information so that we don’t confuse cases from the first Trump administration with what’s happening today. Older cases are still having impact on people’s lives, and the impacts of newer cases will be felt as they come. Knowing the difference will keep users up to date on what Trump judges are doing, as well as the history behind the decisions we’re still feeling the effects of today.

Why this information matters

We at People For have been fighting tirelessly to confirm fair-minded judges to the federal bench and deny bad judges the opportunity to rule on cases that matter to us all. ConfirmedFears.org(link is external) is one way we’re pushing back against the coming onslaught of Trump judges who will be up for nomination and confirmation soon.

You can join us in supporting ConfirmedFears.org(link is external) and our other research and activism around judicial nominations by becoming a member of People For today. Our members make our important work possible, and we need good people like you to join our efforts and fight for fair courts today.
