Mind-controlling mosquitos, gaslighting the Capitol insurrection, “Incitement to Ruin”
Scratching the Itch
Right-wing personality Mark Taylor, who likes to be known as “the firefighter prophet,” has some novel theories about the COVID-19 vaccine. Taylor’s soothsaying had been promoted by no less than Liberty University, the religious-right institution founded by the late Rev. Jerry Falwell Sr. The university made a movie about Taylor and his prediction that former president Donald Trump would win the 2016 election.
In a recent episode of Christopher McDonald’s “McFiles” webcast show, Taylor warned that the COVID-19 vaccine is being injected into mosquitos as a way to forcibly vaccinate everyone and that the vaccine contains nanotechnology that allows the government to control people’s thoughts through frequencies emitted by the cell phones so they can “turn people into a dang robot.”
Better stock up on the citronella.
When the 'Hoax' is a Hoax
Ed Martin, a longtime right-wing operative and a mentor to right-wing operative Ali Alexander of “Stop the Steal” fame, posted a video to Twitter Friday morning about what he calls the “Pelosi hoax of January 6th.”
Martin downplayed the seriousness of the attack on the Capitol by supporters of former President Donald Trump, calling it a protest at which some people “acted like idiots.” (The Capitol breach resulted in the deaths of five people.) Martin falsely claimed that there was no evidence of anyone having been armed and falsely claimed that there has been no identified link between white nationalists and the Capitol insurrectionists. In truth, there was plenty of evidence of armed Trump loyalists and white nationalists at the Capitol, and more has emerged as arrests have been made.
“The Pelosi hoax of Jan. 6 is an effort to do two things: One is to cover up for her mismanagement of the Capitol security,” Martin said in his Feb. 19 Periscope video. “But the bigger one is to use it as a divider to try to push people away from what? From having voted for Trump and having wondered, ‘What happened on Nov. 3?’ People are wondering. But instead, let’s focus on white supremacy, neo-Nazis, and domestic terrorism, none of which have been shown in any way, shape, or form to have been a part of what happened on Jan. 6. It’s sick. It’s twisted. It’s very, very dangerous.”
Meanwhile, security and social media footage shows Capitol invaders carrying Confederate flags, and neo-Nazi Tim Gionet among the marauders. Who ya gonna believe – Ed Martin or your lyin’ eyes?
Ruined Life
Speaking of Stop the Steal’s Ali Alexander, he emerged from hiding this week, having been absent from view following the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection. Because he has since been kicked off the major social media programs, such as Twitter and Facebook, he was reduced to streaming his complaints on the gaming platform Trovo.
In his Feb. 10 Trovo appearance, Alexander lamented the “racist, bigoted, anti-Christian, anti-Southern, anti-Republican, anti-conservative, anti-human smear machine” that he says targeted him, and he promised to create chaos. “We’ve got to get back in the driver’s seat,” he added.
“They’ve done a great number on my life, they’ve cost me tens of thousands of dollars, they’ve really destroyed parts of my life, but in a lot of ways, I have no other choice but to announce that I’m building the future, so I’m making strategic investments in tools that fight deplatforming and to create chaos on existing platforms,” Alexander claimed. He also promised to go on a media tour. Our suggestion for its title: “Incitement to Ruin.”
