While we truly believe the hearts and minds of an entire nation were opened by George Floyd’s death and the evidence of brutal killings of Black Americans, there is still so much work to do.
Congress needs to pass a robust justice in policing act to honor George Floyd. This should be a day of recommitment to the goals we set for ourselves: to change public safety in this country so no more families have to suffer the pain that the Floyd family is suffering. George Floyd’s memory should strengthen our resolve today and every day.
