Last month, Brian posted a video from the latest “Restoration Weekend” hosted by anti-Muslim activist David Horowitz, in which Rep. Trent Franks of Arizona agreed with a fellow panelist who puts forward the theory that President Obama is either “a secret Muslim” or just acting like one.
Franks wasn’t the only member of Congress at the event, which was chock-full of leading Islamophobic activists: Texas senator and Tea Party hero Ted Cruz also planned to drop by.
Since then, we’ve watched a few other videos from the event, including a speech by anti-Muslim crusader Pamela Geller, in which she touted what she admits are the “hostile” and “ugly” Islamophobic ad campaigns she’s been waging across the country. Geller warned that the opponents of the anti-Islam movement are out to “murder” people like her by calling them “crazy names” and that the alternative to her activism is “the gulag.”
“It’s ugly, but it gets the message out,” she said. “And you cannot complain about the hostile territory. This is war.”
Later in the speech, Geller attacked President Obama, calling him a “terror in the White House” who is “at war against Americanism” and “at war against freedom” and who “in every single case sides with the enemy.”
